The participants of this project analysed the attractiveness of the Rhoen mountains to American tourists and developed a package deal for sustainable tourism in form of a feasibility study. The aim was to benefit from already existing relationships between the Rhoen region and the USA, a relation that exists due to emigration and the presence of the US army in the region during the cold war.
Besides promoting the unique cultivated landscape, the package deals created included Wellness trips, tours for backpackers, town twinning and cooperation between German and American army bases.
