Seminars and workshops
take place in the first three weeks of the program.
They will prepare you for the internship
specially.
The following seminars and
workshops will be offered:
Seminar 1: “Environmental
Sustainability”
This seminar provides you with the necessary
theoretical and methodical background for the
internship
projects from the perspective of environmental
sustainability. Strategies of conflict resolution
are discussed and methods of environmental
education are studied.
Seminar 2: “Social
Sustainability”
This seminar provides you with the necessary
theoretical and methodical background for
the internship projects from the perspective
of social sustainability. Regional development
concepts
are discussed and socio-economic factors are
studied. Furthermore the field trip to the
Biosphere
Reserve Rhoen will be prepared.
Seminar 3: “International
Sustainable Management”
This seminar will provide you with an insight
into global and regional management strategies
from the perspective of sustainable development.
Aspects such as professional development, social
and cross-cultural management and sustainable
project management in the non-profit sector are
covered.
Seminar 4: “Intercultural
Communication”
This seminar provides you with the basic concepts
and strategies of intercultural communication.
You will learn how communication takes place
in
international teamwork, how to deal with
potential incidents and how to manage the cultural
diversity.
Seminar 5: “Cyber
Sociology” - Communication with new media
This seminar provides you with concepts, methods
and tools of communication with New Media. Blogs,
Wikis and virtual communities of learning and
practice are discussed from a socio-cultural
perspective.
Practical application scenarios in the context
of sustainable development are developed.
Seminar 6: “Individual
and Systemic Wellness“
This seminar applies methods of “individual
and systemic wellness” to reflect about
your work in your internship team. You will learn
to holistically evaluate your learning progress,
your position and your relationships within and
outside your team.
Workshop 1: “Intercultural
Training”
This workshop will train your intercultural
awareness and your competence in intercultural
communication.
Role plays, simulations and interactive exercises
are used.
Workshop 2: “Presentation Techniques ”
This workshop provides you with the basics of working with new media and presentation techniques and their modes of action.
